We now have a BerkeleyFood Policy Council listserver, thanks to Maggie Masch at the UC Center for Weight and Health. In the future, all announcements and group communications will be done through the listserver. In case you don't know, a listserver provides one email address that will send out messages to everyone who has signed up. Thus, addressing BFPC email communications to:

contact@berkeleyfood.org

will send the message to everyone signed up with the listserver. This is a powerful tool. Hopefully, it will facilitate a lot of our work between meetings. However, in order to keep it from becoming a nuisance and to keep as many people on the list as possible, let's all try to restrict our use of it to pertinant BFPC (or very closely related) business.

We went ahead and signed up everybody on our most recent email list, and have been sending out messages through it. So, if you've received email with the prefix "BFPC:" in the subject header, you're on it. If you didn't receive these messages and want to be on the listserver follow these instructions:

***To subscribe to the Berkeley Food Policy Council list, send the message
"subscribe bfpc-list" (without quotes) to <contact@berkeleyfood.org>.

If you want to be removed from the listserver follow these instructions:

***To unsubscribe, send the message "unsubscribe bfpc-list" (without quotes)
to <contact@berkeleyfood.org>.

These instructions will also be in the footer of every email sent through the listserver.

Again, to send a message to everybody address it to contact@berkeleyfood.org. If you are reading a message sent to you through the listserver you can also use the "reply to all" or equivalent function. Use the "reply" function if you only wish to reply individually to the sender of the message.
